Better Bath Storage – Everyday Solutions

Refresh and Destress Your Bath with a few quick picks…

I organized several baths remodels this summer and have several product tips to share.  Shopping is always icing on the cake when you do an update and there are so many smart storage solutions to keep everyone organized in their daily routine.

SHELF IT

For those of you that like your bathroom products at your fingertips. Look for gallery wall shelving. It’s one of the best open shelving options. It’s available in several styles and sizes. It’s easy to install.  They usually have a 2” inch to 3” inch wide to house most of your daily routine essentials like hair products, body sprays, face products, etc. They look great on any wall & make clean up a snap!

Installing Tip: When installing, make sure to measure your tallest can of product to have enough height between walls. Don’t install to close to electrical outlets. Check for studs. Use drywall anchors that you can install with a screwdriver.

DRAWER IT

Most bathrooms have drawers for storage. Use acrylic clear drawer inserts with divided sections to corral items. Always group like items together. Modular sets maximize space inside the drawer.  Acrylic drawer inserts are easy to clean spills or drips.

Tip: Measure the drawer by (Lx W x H) before buying. Check the narrow depth of your drawer sides. You will be surprised how a 1/4 of an inch matters.

BIN IT

Look for stackable clear bins or lidded versions. They keep everything clean and dry. Make use of vertical space by using stackable bins. Clear helps give visibility inside the container.

Tip: Label bins to identify what’s inside. Make your own or buy them. Etsy, Amazon and The Container Store have many sizes & font options to choose from.

MEDICINE & FIRST-AID

Mini Drawers are great for all the ointments, Band-Aids, and little extra’s that are frequently used for first-aid. Larger drawers or stackable bins with lids can house medicine and vitamins.

Tip: Label to ensure family members can find what they are looking for.

HANG IT

Hang an over-the-door basket organizer to add more storage under the cabinet. Many are customizable. Free up drawer space by storing hair brushes, hair straightener or curling irons here. Add decorative towel bars and hooks for hanging towels. Artwork adds interest to your room and finishes off your look. Use quotable art for a whimsical touch.

Tip: Keep counters clear by adding a ring hand towel bar near the sink.

Installing Tip: Use drywall anchors for hanging items that will have weight. Use picture hangers to hang art. Make sure the weight can be held by the hook.

KEEP VANITIES NEAT

Go vertical! Stacking up leaves more room on your vanity. Cosmetic organizers are available in many shapes & sizes for housing all your make-up. If you can’t use wall shelves, look for shower tower shelves. Try wire baskets for frequently used washcloths. Use cup dispensers for keeping paper cups handy.

Shopping Tip: Storage extras come in a variety of finishes, colors, and materials. Mix n’ match to get the look you want. There is so much out there to match color and décor theme.

SAVE YOUR COUNTERTOPS

Silicone mats come in a variety of shapes and sizes.  They help to prevent burns while using straighteners and curling irons.  Plus, you have a safe place to allow them to cool off while unplugged.
